Our Story

One thing to know about me-I come from a long line of incredibly strong and resilient women and men who endured and survived unthinkable acts of child abuse, domestic violence, and rape. This business was lovingly founded in honor of them-and named after my beautiful daughter, Shelby, whose name means ‘Willow’. Among its many powerful symbolic meanings, the willow tree represents wisdom, endurance, and the capability to withstand hardship and loss. When a willow tree is cut back, she will not die. She will always grow back again, but with even greater speed and vigor than before. Her mighty branches bend and weave to survive the harshest conditions. Her neighboring trees might succumb to the elements, but not the willow-she does not break.

No matter what is happening in the world or in my life, I have always found my peace, healing, and freedom in nature. I wanted to design pieces inspired by the places that have always helped me to find those things, and I hope they help you find them too. Every piece of artwork in the Freedom Willow collection is inspired by nature, designed myself, and made to order in the USA. At least 10% of the gross profits from all sales are donated to organizations fighting to end human trafficking, sexual violence, domestic violence, and the abuse of children and animals.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. I sincerely hope everyone who reads this finds freedom in their lives and in their hearts, in whatever meaning that has for you. Whether it's walking away from a situation that no longer serves you, advocating for a cause close to your heart, or releasing yourself from the unresolved trauma of your past-I hope you find it. It is important to know that the circumstances you are handed do not define you-it is what you do despite your circumstances that will determine your destiny. Don’t let the opinions or actions of others change how you feel about yourself. You know who you are better than anyone else-believe in yourself and know your worth. Wear your wings proudly, regardless of those who will try to clip them. Be kind-everyone is healing from something. No dream is too big or too small, and I hope all of yours come true. Thank you for being a part of one of mine, and best wishes to you all for a life lived fully-and with the freedom we all deserve.

With sincerest gratitude,

Danielle Bonds

"A bird sitting in a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking, because her faith is not in the branch but in her own wings. Always believe in yourself."
